The legends of FC Barcelona Andrés Iniesta, Carles Puyol and Iván de la Peña, in collaboration with a team of technology experts, take advantage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup for the international launch of Olyseum , the first social network that connects Sports fans with their idols. Based on the Blockchain technology, Olyseum will be tested among the million fans that are expected to travel to Russia during the World Cup.

Directed by CEO Carlos Grenoir and the head of security, Kevin Mitnick, Olyseum was co-founded by former FC Barcelona players with the aim of bringing closer relations between sports fans and their idols. This social network aims to build an online sports' Coliseum ', a universal platform for fans and idols to interact freely and without problems, establishing meaningful relationships and rewarding fans' commitment through the use of state-of-the-art technology. In 2016, in its initial launch in Spanish, Olyseum was the most downloaded sports application of the App Store in six countries.

Through Blockchain technology, Olyseum wants to introduce an incentive program driven by smart contracts for fans who contribute to the community. These contributions will be rewarded in the form of exclusive products such as VIP tickets and unique experiences with sports idols.

The co-founder of Olyseum and former FC Barcelona captain Carles Puyol commented: "Throughout my career at FC Barcelona, I have had the unconditional support of millions of fans around the world. With the desire to expand the limits of real and genuine participation of fans, Andrés, Iván and I joined together to create a space for collaboration for lovers of this beautiful sport and interact with users moved by the same feeling ".

The CEO of Olyseum, Carlos Grenoir, is a Master in Information Security and Neuroscience and is currently working on his Doctorate in Computer Science and Telecommunications. Before founding Olyseum, Grenoir created Quantum Fields Technologies, which specializes in security projects, research and development in artificial intelligence and intelligent social networks. Olyseum security chief and co-founder, Kevin Mitnick, is one of the most renowned and experienced security consultants in the world, and has worked with several Fortune 500 companies and the FBI.

Connect the fans with their football idols

On the announcement of the international launch of Olyseum through the Blockchain technology, the CEO of the platform, Carlos Grenoir, commented: "For too long, there has been a disconnection between idols and their fans, which has limited the quality of the compromise between them. Olyseum is here to close that gap, creating a social network that involves the amateur and, most importantly, rewards their participation. I have always been fascinated by the art of improving human relationships, especially through the potential of technology. When Carles, Andrés and Iván came to me with the shared problem of poor interaction with the fans, we set to work together to create a solution. "

"The World Cup brings together passionate fans from all over the world, all speak the same international language of football and we hope to test our social network among the international football community in the coming weeks. The values of inclusion and collaboration are intrinsically linked to our platform, which will be supported by the Blockchain technology. We firmly believe that fans deserve to share the success of their idols, and now there is a platform that supports this vision. We are proud to be able to make dreams come true, bringing sports fans closer to their idols ", concluded Grenoir.
